This release is in my head, the best of the Armored Saint releases. During the time the band was working on these songs and the recording of such, a million things went wrong for them. The result was that they ended up putting their frustrations off on the performance and, lo and behold, the birth of one of the BEST American Heavy Metal albums of all time was given on to us. The performances on the songs are nothing short of spectacular. John Bush (yes, the same one who went to to Anthrax) is one hell of a vocalist whose vocal range cannot just be imitated by any idiot out there. Dave Prichard (RIP 1990), recorded some bad ass riffs as in the case of the awesome track "Terror" that is just a headbanger's delight- beer+ gaunlets must be included in this one!!. Drummer Gonzo (now in Fate's Warning) gives a powerful and precise assault, this guy does justice to classic Metal, bassist Joey Vera (yup, he also went to Anthrax in 2004 to replace Frank Bello) is a skillful bass player whose timing and rhythm is heard throughout the whole LP. At the time, the band went on tour with Helloween and Grim Reaper on what was called the 'Hell on Wheels" tour. There is footage around of this ,although it has been out of production for a while. The band has been doing some shows here and there but nothing tour like that I know off. In the meantime, if you crave a dose of true and original Heavy Metal, look no further than this.
