necrometal - Irminsul - Urberg Demo 2

Last year I interviewed this band upon listening to their "Vinterskald" demo which was just a killer folk power metal/ with a pinch of death/black metal mix of ideas.
This morning I got an email from the band telling me about the new release and I promptly listened since 2 of the 3 songs had been previously posted(now removed) at the band's site on a rawer form and showcased some excellent talent.

The present mix of the official demo is a notch above of what their previous effort was but, make no mistake here: the music is as powerful and forward as the swing of an axe. The use of female vocals and fiddles is done just right without making it sound go overboard. sound wise, the songs are crystal clear like yet, do maintain a heaviness level. This is a logical continuation of their on-moving creativity and I certainly hope that they keep moving forward with Northern winds on their sails.
