Interview with Smitty from aussie band WHOREGRIND
First of all id like to thank you for taking the time to do this interview.... NO FUCKEN WORRIES MY MATE!!! What is the name of your band? WhoreGrind Where is your band from? Biloela, Queensland, Australia... its a little town full of Cuntry bumpkins and bogans (rednecks)... How did you pick your band name? The name came from past experiences with the weak minded, sick, volatile people who you couldn't trust as far as you could throw them.... basically WhoreGrind stands for humanity and it's need for decimation... What bands influence you the most? Carcass - for there undeniable catchiness and aggressiveness Obituary - Thick slabs of fresh fucken guitar chunk! Darkthrone - Cold, Dark with elements of thrash.  How long have you been playing metal? shit... since i was 16 or 17 so that would be since 1999 or 2000... When I was in senior at highschool i played in a few bands and gigged around for a bit, doing PanterA and Six Feet Under covers... then started WhoreGrind in 2005... it wasn't called WhoreGrind back then... but yeah, just fucken round with drummachines and whatnot was heaps of fun and decided to continue on and make a good go of it!. What are your feelings on the underground metal scene today? In Australia, the metal scene is being invaded by emos, they were at a Suffocation gig i attended in Febuary this year!! Though the scene itself is as healthy than it has been in ages, a hellofalot of international bands are coming out to Australia, Nile, Suffocation, Arcturus, Cannibal Corpse... aswell as big surgence of local bands such as GrandfatherGore, GodCock, Excruciate... keep the horns high brothers!! Do you have any releases? WhoreGrind has one EP entitled "The Soggy Sao Saga" released under ViolentDischarge Sounds.. I have to explain the title... a soggy sao is a game you play where you and 3 or 4 guys get in a cirle and pull there dicks and cum all over the Sao (a sao being an australian made dry cracker) the last one to cum on it has to eat it...hence the EP name "The Soggy Sao Saga" cos its a saga to get the dude to eat the fucken Sao!! I have another EP in the works.. no titles as of yet...
I do have a one song released from the new EP though entitled "Whore Of The World" you can check it out on WhoreGrinds website.
Do you have any other hobbies besides your band?
Drag racing my R33 Nissan Skyline and making it go faster hahahaha... My occupation is a Network Administrator for the local council here, so most my time is spent in front of a computer doing up stuff for other bands and my own band... i get alot from doing that kind stuff, sorta giving back to metal community thats helped me over the years. What can we be expecting from Whoregrind in the future? A new FUCKEN EP!!! hahahahaha... and maybe a another track release... i have written a drum track and some guitars...just really got to put some polish on it! And maybe an old school release of tracks written pre WhoreGrind... all will be availble from ViolentDischargeSounds
